About Foinikas

Foinikas village is a picturesque coastal village located on the island of Syros in Greece. The village is a popular destination for tourists who are looking for a peaceful and authentic Greek experience.

In Foinikas village there is an organizedmarina for the yachts and excellent bar-restaurants right by the sea such as Ora Baresto, Calmo Mare, Filomila, Bao Bab which offers from the morning delicious breakfast, brunches and traditional Greek food with gourmet touches while taking in the beautiful views of the Aegean Sea. Ntanos Bakery and Pastries with freshly baked bread and snacks every day and Athimaritis pastry shop with amazing sweets. Near the beach of Foinikas, is Voulgaris beach and just 1km far the Agathopes beach. A short distance from Foinika are the organized beaches of Galissas, Kini, M.Gialos, Vari, Achladi and Azolimnos, where you can swim in the crystal clear waters. If you want tranquillity, choose the beaches of Delfini, Lotos, Ambela, Kokkina and Komito. While if you want to explore the deceptive northern beaches of Syros, then you should board to Perla speedboat that departs daily from the small port of Kini for the beaches Aetos, Barbarousa, Lia, Marmari, GriaSpilia and Grammata.

Local Products of Syros

Syros is well known for the local products, with the loukoumi of Syros in different flavours and Chalvadopita with thyme honey and fresh almonds, are in the first position.

The well-known cheese “San Michali”, which is made from local milk of Syros and has been recognized as a POP product, as well as other types of cheese by the cheese factories of Syros, “Zozefinos” and “Tyrosyra“.

They are local products with a special character and are perfectly combined with the local wines of Syros wineries “PARA-KOPOI“, “Freris wines” & “Syros Winery“. Some of the most famous wines of these wineries are NisouMethi, Aionas, San Maratha and Fabrica.

Capers, sausages with fennel, sun-dried tomatoes and thyme honey are also some of the most famous local products of Syros that are worth tasting by every visitor.
